Exim’s Creative Education programme is for young people between the ages of 11 – 16 years (up to 25 with disabilities) who are not currently attending full time mainstream education. Young people on this project will have the opportunity to develop transferable skills, build confidence and learn creatively with peers in a safe and collaborative environment. We will work with young people to form healthy relationships that empower youth voice and give them autonomy.

Through the programme we will seek to inspire and encourage young people to accomplish goals, connect with their community and equip them for future opportunities in education and employment.

Aims of the programme:

  • Enhance employability
  • Reduce anti-social behaviour
  • Work towards accredited qualifications
  • Opportunity to tackle local community issues promoting youth voice

Practitioners will work co-creatively with the young people. Participants will be put at the centre of their learning journey and will be motivated through group and individual experiences. Young people will gain a breadth of knowledge and skills through designing, participating and completing projects that span a variety of art forms.
