ADAPT is a weekly dance service for young people aged 12-25 years that identify as disabled.
Our aim is to raise aspirations and confidence in a non judgemental and safe environment, offering participants an opportunity to engage in enjoyable dance wellbeing activities.
Our role within the sessions is not only to encourage movement, but also progression in the participants personal lives, signpost to relevant opportunities and boost future career prospects.
The weekly sessions are FREE for participation.
What the parents say:
“My daughter has gained so much confidence from the sessions. She looks forward to the sessions and has mixed well and has learned to listen to other people’s opinions and value those opinions a skill that she has not had until now.”
“My daughter had very little coordination due to her being Downs and finds it hard to mix with “normal” people outside of school, when she was given the chance to attend Exim dance, she was over the moon as she loves to dance and she looked forward to going every Friday evening… I feel they are helping young adults with learning differences to understand that they can do more with their life’s and learn new ways of expressing themselves.”
“What a lovely surprise to see my treasured Grandson has become so self confident after attending this group. For anyone who has a child with special needs I would highly recommend the child joining this group to help make the most of themselves and their talents.”
“Brilliant. My son loves going to ADAPT. He is being more active and confident in himself. Also everyone is friendly. The key is he wants to go. Thank you. You are doing great things.”
