Young People’s Timetable

This month our young people are back attending our FREE weekly sessions!

A number of the groups have been preparing for end of term showings, Traverse Youth Dance Platform and beginning their Arts Award qualifications.

Here’s some recent feedback from a parent of a young person:

“When your child comes home from an @EximDance ADAPT session absolutely buzzing, and is still talking about it in the morning, it brings such joy!Thank you to the amazing staff who are helping our young people see that they really can achieve anything.”

In addition to this, we have been ensuring the young people are still getting the valuable time to continue socialising and engaging in wellbeing activities through our Social Hour. We’ve been really pleased with the feedback received from young people about how the sessions are proving useful in promoting time to chat to the team, peers and having down time away from movement sessions.

Please see the timetable below for all our classes and images taken from Social Hour.

If you are interested in attending any of our sessions please email:

Scratch Night

We had a beautiful night of sharings for Scratch Night this month. We want to say a massive thank you to all the artists who shared their work, the contribution from both the artists and audience added to the overwhelming feeling of community within the space that night.

What a brilliant way to introduce Scratch Night into our new shared premises in Stonehouse at Oxford House Creative Hub.

Thank you to the University of Plymouth for the loan of technical equipment.

On reflection, the team were thrilled with the outcome and are so glad to be back organising and facilitating events like these within the community.

We can’t wait for the next one!

SAVE THE DATE: Our next Scratch Night will be on the 26th November, more details to follow in due course.

If you’re interested in sharing your work, we would love to hear from you.

Space Scheme

Over the summer period the artists for this year’s Space Scheme were selected.

Throughout the year artists are able to use Oxford House Creative Hub as a facility for free  to develop a new piece/pieces of work, undergo a research and development period or even explore new practices that could help progress their career.

Since then, Amy Shaw has been making use of our studio’s here at Oxford House Creative Hub for an upcoming performance of a two-actor adaptation of Romeo and Juliet to Exeter Fringe.

A small segment of this has also recently been shown at our most recent Scratch Night.

Here’s what Amy had to say in relation to using the Space Scheme:

“This is why I applied for the space scheme and why I was so delighted to be selected. It is a huge gift to be able to rehearse and create without financial worry. That support gives the freedom to play, to create, to risk things and to try things out and to create a community of theatre makers. […] Once this production is done, I will be back in the space working on some new ideas, some using existing texts and others being devised from scratch. I fully intend to squeeze every drop out of this opportunity.”
