January 2021 Newsletter
ALL THINGS VIRTUAL
Welcome to our first Newsletter of the new year, we want to start off by saying Happy New Year to everyone. We have entered 2021 feeling refreshed and resilient as ever!
We started the month off with the news of a national lockdown, for Exim that meant working from home for the team so that we could plan for our next steps. The team meets twice a week over video calls and often chat throughout the week. Wellbeing is a priority across all aspects of our work, we reflected on previous lockdowns and how we can evolve our existing and new ideas in order to connect with the community.
Once again, we have taken into account people’s needs and wants and have formulated a Young People’s and Adult’s Virtual Timetable.
All young people sessions are FREE thanks to funding from BBC Children in Need.
Adult sessions are on a donation basis £1- £3, or for FREE if this is not financially viable for you.
Head over to our COVID 19 Response (Virtual Offer) for participant feedback and testimonies throughout lockdown:

SUPER EXCITING NEWS
This month we released some really exciting news. As a team we have been working alongside Rhythm City Dance Studio since October to prepare our NEW SPACE – Oxford House Creative Hub ready for the return of face to face classes once we are out of lockdown. This will be a shared premises located in Stonehouse, Plymouth.
The multi-functional creative hub comprises a ground floor with a good size reception, two dance studios, a multipurpose room, changing rooms & shower facilities. The first floor comprises an office space and a meeting room for Exim Dance.
The support we received locally and nationally has been overwhelming and we are so glad we could share our incredible journey & can’t wait for everyone to come and visit – this will definitely give us all something to look forward to!
Make sure to follow our Social Media page to keep up to date with everything at Oxford House Creative Hub:
Exim has been spreading their positivity by sending a new ‘Positivity Pack’ every two weeks via email and social media to all our participants. These packs are filled with resources that can be used whilst at home during lockdown.
They have an emphasis on wellbeing so include affirmations, art therapy and activities.
Core team member Chloe has been creating these packs with added content from local Graphic Designer Lu.Cornish & Kaitlyn’s Kreations who have made bespoke illustrations inline with our ethos here at Exim.
