I am thrilled to have been selected for Young Choreographers South West 2019/2020 programme which will be taking place in February 2020 supported by Dance in Devon and Pavillion Dance South West.

Since leaving University I have been keen to pursue my own interest in choreographing and devising, this is an integral part of my own development as a freelance dance artist. Throughout my time at University of Plymouth, I applied and performed at various platforms around the Plymouth area. These experiences were vital as it enabled me to challenge the notion of devising work for an audience, as opposed to devising in the studio space.

I currently work with a variety of young people who aspire to progress within the dance/performance field, it is important I feel inspired as well as the young people when facilitating sessions.

I am looking forward to sharing the space with like-minded peers from around the South West and industry professionals from across the country. I feel this is a perfect opportunity to experiment and push my own choreographic language in an encouraging environment. I hope to gain skills which I can take into my own practice and utilise within my work as a facilitator and freelance dancer.
